Pastor's Paragraph

I am constantly overwhelmed by the musical talent that is in our church!  Wasn't last Sunday terrific?  Every one who shared their voices and musical talents gets a big "THANK YOU" from our church.  You provided us with a great worship experience.  Don called me Sunday afternoon and said that I managed to get a video recording of the service in spite of myself.  If you would like a copy, let me know and We'll get one to you.  We'll also post some clips on the web page.

Have you notices the visitors in our services lately?  Many people are coming to our worship hour looking for an experience with God.  I know you are all doing your part to make them feel at home.  Let's remain faithful in meeting their needs in and out of the worship hour.  That reminds me ... Every member and our regular visitors are part of a family ministry group. Each group has a family minister that will be in regular contact with you.  It may be someone you haven't had the chance to get to know well.  Take the opportunity to get close to you church brothers and sisters.  It will strengthen your life and the life of the church.

I was reminded recently of the importance of prayer.  Important is not the right word -- the "essential-ness" of prayer.  There are a few people in our church who are committed to prayer for others but especially for our church.  The effectiveness of what we do as the present body of Christ depends on prayer.  I am encouraging each of you to consider making prayer a priority in your life. We have a guide to help you get started.  I hope you will use it.

Very soon you will begin to hear about plans for next year.  The planning involved budgeting but that is not the centerpiece for our planning.  The plan is centered upon your spiritual growth and the ways by which you may choose to serve God through your church. It is important that we all begin the is journey together, so that together we experience the Abundant Joy of Loving God and Loving People.  As you pray, ask God for what he would have you do with him for his glory.

Blessings!
Mark

Abundant Joy...Rich Generosity

Many thanks to everyone who has pledged to sacrificially give to better secure the future of our church and to better prepare for the future ministry of our church.  At then end of the campaign we reach only 27% of our monetary goal.  The opportunity to participate in the goals set forth in our church life campaign is still available.  Please help yourself to the information on the table in the hospitality room in the foyer of the worship center and decide how you can commit to Abundant joy...Rich Generosity.
